To be honest I didn’t quite know what to expect from this day! Charlotte and Dave had made out that they weren’t making too much of a ‘big deal’ about everything. But I think in reality it’s just that they take things in their stride, Charlotte is a fantastic artist so I think having a vision of how elements of the day should look just came naturally. It helps that her mum is a great Florist, so that was all the amazing flowers taken care of. The first decision was the venue. A wedding at the Aviator in Hampshire is a bold choice. Complete opposite from what you would consider as an English wedding. The Aviator hotel in Farnborough, Hampshire is a super modern and stylish venue. Located at the end of the famous Farnborough airfield it takes its decor inspiration from all things aeronautical. I love it, it’s a great choice. The day started near Portsmouth, where Charlotte and her mum were getting ready next to each other. Charlotte is a strong minded person, but with her mum next to her, and when her dad also appeared it was as if she regressed back 15 years and suddenly she was mum & dads little girl about transforming into a princess. It was heart warming to see. What I really loved about shooting with Charlotte is how honest she is with the camera. I was as if I was part f the moment for her, me being there didn’t cause her to fake anything, her emotions were clear to see. Absolutely fantastic for great wedding photographs. For the photo session with Dave and Charlotte we jumped in the car and popped to an area on the other side of the airfield. Some nice moody skies and an industrial looking bridge made for a dynamic setting.
Thank you for making me so welcome guys, and being so great to work with
