I love everything about this imaginative and slightly loopy wedding in Hampshire, England, and jumped at the chance to shoot it.
I first met these two soul mates in on a cold Winter evening in a cosy eccentric pub in Winchester. The crazy decor of the pub, as suggested by Sadie, was an insight into these guys mind. Sadie loves to create things, she makes her own handmade jewellery and I could tell she wanted to put the skills she has into the wedding itself. Many things about the day were handmade, and hours and days were put into making these things. As well as the decor of the wedding, locations were chosen because of their significance within the family. The ceremony was completely outdoors, in the grounds of a beautiful rustic house significant to Robs family. Luckily the weather played into our hands for the entire day! The ceremony took place under the gaze of some beautiful ancient English trees, Oak, Beech and Ash trees. Rob is a tree surgeon so this seems poetic. For both Rob and Sadie nature is important to them, so to have the ceremony here, in the shade f these majestic ancient trees was perfect. After the (slightly crazy) ceremony I wanted to catch Rob & Sadie’s spontaneous side so we literally went straight into the trees for a quick picture session. After that we all went to the gorgeously hand styled reception venue, Rob and Sadie’s vision was clear to see. After a few more crazy goings on, Sadie breaking out into song unbeknown to Rob for example, I wanted to make the most of the beautiful day and the ensuing sunset. Of course we didn’t want to spend any time driving around so I scouted a few locations within walking distance. So we set off and went for a roam around the local woods and fields. We enjoyed going for a ramble and watching the sunset together, where we then headed back and finished the evening with a bit of a crazy party…
I am very grateful that you chose me to be your photographer for this well thought out and handcrafted wedding!
