An Alternative wedding In HampshireRob + Sadie
I love everything about this imaginative and slightly loopy Hampshire wedding, and jumped at the chance to shoot it.
I first met these two soul mates in on a cold Winter evening in a cosy eccentric pub in Winchester. The crazy decor of the pub, as suggested by Sadie, was an insight into these guys minds. Sadie loves to create things, she makes her own handmade jewellery and I could tell she wanted to put the skills she has into the wedding itself. Many things about the day were handmade, and hours and days were put into hand making the decor. As well as the decor, locations were chosen because of their significance within the family.
The ceremony was completely outdoors, in the grounds of a beautiful rustic house significant to Robs family. On that subject, the rules on where wedding ceremonys in the UK can legally occur are changing as of 2020. The changes are going to mean there will be more choice as to where you can hold your wedding cermony. This means more outdoor weddings!! There couldn’t be a better time to start planning your alternative wedding, I’m looking forward to weddings on beaches, on top of hill and in forests!
Rob & Sadies alternative wedding ceremony took place under the gaze of some beautiful ancient English trees, Oak, Beech and Ash trees. Rob is a tree surgeon so this seems poetic. For both Rob and Sadie nature is important, so to have the ceremony here, in the shade of these majestic ancient trees was perfect. Afterwards everyone went to the gorgeously hand styled reception venue, Rob and Sadie’s vision was clear to see. Then, a few more crazy goings on, Sadie breaking out into song unbeknown to Rob for example. Later in the evening we went for a quick ramble and watched the sunset, and then they danced the night away with friends and family.
