NEW FOREST WEDDING AT THE BELL INN,
BECCA + NEIL.
I love the New Forest, any excuse for a day out there I will snatch up, especially on a Summers day on a motorbike. If you aren’t too familiar with the area, it’s a mix of ancient woods, open pasture land with a few quaint English villages such as Lyndhurst, and lovely manor houses tucked away. It has some interesting history such as being named a royal park by William the Conqueror, however, as most people will agree, the fascinating thing about the whole area is there are Horses, Donkeys and cows walking everywhere! Who cares about William T Conquerer when you can watch a family of Donkeys hanging around outside the local news agent! Such sights make it worth the visit alone.
Another great thing about the New Forest is the variety of some classic quintessential British country pubs. The Bell Inn, New Forest is a perfect example of a beautiful rustic Inn, tucked away in the tiny hamlet of Brook near Lyndhurst. After a recommendation from friends Neil & Rebecca realised the potential for a cosy Autumn wedding in the Bell Inn. I think we in the UK tend to not appreciate what we have, and we certainly underrate our culture. That’s why I like traditional pub/Inn weddings so much, because they really represent something about British heritage we take for granted. You know exactly in the world you are when you see a British pub, an Ozzy guy at a wedding once said to me ‘there’s nowhere better in the world than a country pub garden in the Summer’. So embrace your Britishness and more pub weddings please!
Neil & Rebeccas day wasn’t exactly the perfect Summer day, quite the opposite! I woke up to hear the biggest storm of the year raging outside, time to keep calm and carry on. I hoped Neil & Rebcecca wouldn’t be panicing that The Bell Inn wasn’t going to blow away, and as I drove through the New Forest dodging fallen trees, I was concerned too. Thankfully though when I arrived the pub was Inn was in one piece, I found Rebecca and she didn’t really seem to care less about what was going on outside the window. We embraced the fact that with the bad weather came the incredible Autumn colours, and later in the day we would do our best to make the most of the display.
The day was exactly what Neil & Rebecca had hoped. An intimate wedding with family and close friends, all tucked away in an atmospheric rustic pub, fire crackling away in the corner and local Ales on tap, one bought in especially for the happy couple. The personality of the day was in fact enhanced by the fierce weather raging outside, there’s nowhere better to be during a storm than next to a cosy fireplace is there. Enhanced by the carefully thought out styling, the rustic wood clad wedding breakfast area looked gorgeous and had it’s own personality, something that would have been lost in a larger venue.
So the Bell Inn New Forest, and the great British weather provided an understated but truly representative wedding that’s only possible in this little corner of the world.

A Rustic Wedding Venue in The New Forest
The Bell Inn, Brook, New Forest. The perfect place for that snug, cosy feeling on a wet & windy English day. There’s nothing quite like listening to the howling wind while sat next to a crackling fire.

Becca’a flowers were a little feeling of Summer tied up with Autumn colours.

Becca & Neil are huge Rock music and festival fans, so Becca jumped at the chance to style up her wedding dress with a leather jacket. I think the contrast looks really cool, and for Becca it added a strong element of her personality to the look. I’m all for breaking with tradition and putting your unique stamp on things.

It may have been raining, cold & windy, but then then that’s something Neil & Rebecca will remember about their day. Embrace the things you can’t control and make the most of it. Becca wasn’t in the slightest bit bothered about the wind & rain blowing her hair out of place and getting her dress a bit wet.
