I’m so grateful to Abi & Ian for asking me to be their wedding photographer for their day at Tournerbury Woods Estate in Hayling Island.
Abi & Ian are, it’s easy to say, unique. From the moment we first met, in London earlier in the year, I could tell that their relationship was very special. They both are creative souls, Abi having been in a band when they first met. Both are serious about their music which is something that binds them. I should have guessed at that moment that Abi would write and perform her own Ucalaly solo speech on the wedding day (pictures of that further down the page!!).
Their day was one of the hottest days the UK has experienced, which isn’t all that hot in the scheme of things, but still 35 degrees shooting a wedding is tough! Luckily Abi & Ian had thought about this in advance and there were Ice Lollies and Ice Cream to hand. Their day was always going to be unique in their own way. Being set in the great outdoors in the UK is always a risk, but being set in nature was important. Music was another important part of the day, with a great guitarist setting the mood all afternoon, playing for hours in the scorcing Sun, legend! Some other very creative, music related ideas featured in the day.
What a place to be on a scorching Summers day. A Tournerbury Woods Estate wedding is blessed with this view, hidden away at the far end of the estate. It was 35 degrees but the cool breeze, Ice cream and lollys helped cool things down.
